Yeah I should be clear on that. Initially, it'll be the bear hug thing since Identi.ca supports Twiiter style API, then we'll have to roll with the "flow"

Also, the incoming will be a web-based XMPP client that will hopefully degrade to the web api if XMPP is down.

But your point is valid since not every OMB implementation is supporting the Twitter style API.

What I want though is a service agnostic real time web client.

What I'm not after is supporting every social network's api.

So if an OMB api standard does not form, this project will end up re-thinking things.</description>
